First aired on December 6th, 2009, episode one Spinosaurus depicted the dinosaur as the apex predator of its time. The Discovery Channel original series has been criticized by many in part for the perceived inaccuracies included within the Spinosaurus episode such as the portrayal of Spinosaurus being an apex predator when many theorize it was a piscivore.
Episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Monsters Resurrected have been reaired on Discovery Channel, but not episode 1 featuring Spinosaurus. Episode 5 has been put on hold until late February or early March 2010. The complete series is expected to be released on DVD in April 2010.
An evolution themed auction is scheduled for December 1st and 2nd, 2009 to take place at the Drouot-Montaigne auction house in Paris.
An 8 meter long Spinosaurus skeleton is available but is actually a composite of bones gathered over a wide area of Morocco. The Spinosaur is expected to haul in upwards of $750,000.
